Description: A guaranteed vintage poster for a theatrical production by the Bedford Park Amateur Dramatic Club in Chiswick West London in January 1904. Named in the onstage ensemble of the musical comedy “Another Girl” was the artist Cecil Aldin, who had lived in Flanders Rd, Bedford Park, from 1894 to 1898, and by 1903 had a studio in the area where members of the Chiswick Art Workers Guild made toys to his designs. The 30” by 10” letterpress poster was printed on orange paper, and includes many other names worthy of research. The show was written by the professional actor Harry Nicholls, with music by Cecil Cook. The poster has been folded and has suffered short tears to the margins and longer ones along the creases, with some small areas of loss and other signs of wear. The bottom corner has become detached at some point and re-attached with archival tape. A fascinating go-with for any collector of Cecil Aldin material.
