Description: I can ship this item to countries outside of the USA using Priority Mail International from the United States Postal Service. I can ship it most economically anywhere here in the USA using UPS Ground services. This is a complete windshield assembly from a middle-sized roadster or touring car built here in the USA from about 1915 through 1920 or so. I have no idea exactly what vehicle it is from so PLEASE help me out here if you possibly can. I believe this assembly is early enough to mount through holes in castings that protrude through the cowl. Later cars were smoother looking and had windshield posts that went down through holes in the cowl and attached to cast brackets hidden inside the cowl. The distance between the centers of the mounting posts on the bottom is about 41". The cylindrical features at the bottom of the mounting posts are 3/4" in diameter by 1-3/8" high with a 5/8" fine thread at the bottom. The 5/8" find thread acorn nuts have 15/16" hexes on them. The flange at the lower part of the mounting posts is 1-3/8" in diameter. The vertical posts are not round but are somewhat oval in cross-section. The lower parts of the posts measure 15/16" front to back and a bit over 3/4" wide. The upper parts of the posts directly below the upper frame swivel measure 3/4" front to back by about 9/16" wide. The distance between the pair of 9/16" diameter upper studs where the folding top attaches is about 40-13/16". Both of the steel frames are about 39-9/16" wide. The upper frame is 9-7/8" high while the bottom frame is 9-3/4" high at the outer edges. The steel frames are about 1" high by about 3/4" deep in cross-section not counting the nickel plated brass glass mounting channel. The 4 nickel plated nuts on the frame swivels have 3/4" hexes on them. None of the steel frames have any rust holes in them anywhere that I can see. The bottom of the bottom frame has a pair of 1/8" diameter water drain holes located about 3-1/2" in from each outer edge. That pair of holes may have helped keep the bottom of this frame from rusting through as often happens. None of the 4 frame pivots were seized up so both of the frames still move out and back as you can see in the first photo of this listing. The glass is the original single pane glass and some chips as you can see. It should be replaced with safety glass and is an excellent pattern for cutting the new glasses. This is really a very nice original windshield assembly and one would be hard pressed to ever find a nicer one to restore. I have listed a $50 handling charge to cover the cost of having a friend build a plywood crate to protect this gem during shipping. I plan to take both frames loose at the post, lay some foam between them and sandwich the pair of frames between a pair of 1/2" thick pieces of plywood. I would then use 3/4" pieces of wood to make a sort of picture frame to hold the 2 pieces of plywood together. I plan to ship the pair of posts in a separate box. I have plenty of secure indoor storage here in beautiful Montana if you or a friend are planning a trip here and can pick this up sometime in the future. If someone picks this up, the $50 handling charge and the shipping charge will be refunded. Thant a lot, Bob Woodburn in Bozeman Montana USA - phone 406-799-1847
