Description: ESTHER WILLIAMS COLORING BOOK - 1950 Merrill Publishing Co. #1591. 10.5" x 15". Approx. 48 pages. Oversized format with color illustrated cover featuring bathing suit imagery. Williams is best known for the series of films in the 1940s and early 1950s known as "aquamusicals," which featured elaborate performances with synchronized swimming and diving. Many well drawn images of Esther, several in her famous swimming attire. This is a nice representative example with majority of pages colored, most neatly. Condition is considered only FAIR with miscellaneous surface/stain/edge wear. Cover loose with 100% spine edge separation. Misc. cover surface creasing and edge tears (largest being 1/2"). Mild inner page surface creasing with scattered page edge tears (largest being 5/8"). Three page mid-spreads loose from staples with moderate clear tape reinforcement on these spreads. Young artists have initialed numerous pages neatly on bottom. Crayon writing on blank inner back cover. Overall, imagery is still bold and attractive. Appears complete. Despite obvious defects, we feel this is still a very displayable example by most standards (see photos). A nice addition for the ESTHER WILLIAMS and/or CHARACTER COLORING BOOK enthusiast.
