Description: Vintage late 1950's BSA Boy Scouts of America Long sleeved Olive Official Shirt Sanforized Uniform Top with Eagle Scout Patch, epaulet with 1 year metal pin back star pin, 4 year metal pin back star pin, Arrow of Light Patch, Jackson Miss Shoulder Patches , 30 patch, Boy Scouts of America Be Prepared Patch, Official Metal Buttons, This information very generously provided from a top Ebayer (and thank you so much) The blue and gold epaulet signifies that the Scout was a Cub Scout Den Chief at one time. A Den Chief helps the Den Mother (now Den Leader) with Den meetings. The star with a "1" means the Scout was a Den Chief for one year. The "Senior" strip above the "Boy Scouts of America" strip was a program for 15 year old and older Scouts. It's always been a challenge to keep older boys in the Scouting program. Senior Scouting was a way for the older Scouts to share in Explorer Scouting, Sea Scouting, and other such programs while remaining in their Troop. An Eagle rank patch is on the left pocket. This is the highest rank in Scouting. Below the Eagle badge is an Arrow of Light patch. The Arrow of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouting and this patch is the only one that is allowed to carry over to the Scout uniform. The star with a "4" and the green circle means he served as a Scout for over 4 years.
