Description: 1951 W T Copeland & Sons (Spode) twin handles soup coupe with matching saucer, chinoiserie pattern Audley "Royal Jasmine" from Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. Hand painted in multiple colours on a cream background, with a delicate starburst and swaggers motif and a solid green border. In excellent original vintage condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify.There is some fine micro crazing on both pieces, very typical of pieces from this period.The colours remain bright, clean and vibrant;the green border unrubbed; an exceptional reminder of grand dining. Dimensions:Cup 17 cm from outer edge of handle to outer edge of handle.Saucer 15.5 cm diameter The reverse of both pieces bear the Copeland Spode England back stamp with Audley "Royal Jasmine" and hand written painter's marks.The saucer also has an impressed Copeland mark and date code, both indecipherable.
