Description: This listing is for the OFFICIAL 1974 US OPEN PROGRAM. The tournament was held at Winged Foot Golf Club, and was ultimately won by Hale Irwin with a great 2-iron to the 18th green. This Winged Foot course was widely considered to be the toughest course setup ever in the history of the US Open. I was there all 7 days and I can attest to it. It was dubbed "The massacre at Winged Foot." Gary Player was there and led after the first day with an even par 70. Arnold Palmer contended all the way. Sam Snead was there but had to WD with a cracked rib on the eve of the start. It was unbelievable. Head Pro Claude Harmon held court the entire week. This program has some wear, the cover is loose, but inside it is very good and totally readable and enjoyable with no markings or tears.
