Description: Maalox Plus Suspension 250mL Maalox® Plus is a balanced mixture of two antacids, aluminium hydroxide is a slow antacid and magnesium hydroxide is a quick acting one. Simethicone is a gastric defoaming agent, used to combine lots of small bubbles into larger bubbles, which can be expelled more easily. Indication: To provide symptomatic relief of hyperacidity plus alleviation of gas symptoms associated with stomach or intestinal ulcer, gastric inflammation, heartburn, or gas pain after operation. To provide symptomatic relief of abdominal bloating. Dosage and Directions For Use: Adults: 2 teaspoon 4 times a day taken 20 minutes to 1 hour after meals and at bedtime or as directed by the physician. Adults aged 15 years and above: Drink the suspension as is, do not dilute. Ingredients: Magnesium hydroxide 200mg, Aluminium hydroxide 200mg, Simethicone 26.25mg. Warnings: - Do not take more than 16 teaspoonfuls in a 24-hour period or use the maximum dosage for more than 2 weeks. - Do not use if you have kidney disease except under the advise and supervision of a physician. - Aluminium hydroxide may cause constipation due to its astringent action, this effect may be balanced by the cathartic effect of the magnesium salts. - Aluminium hydroxide may lead to a phosphate depletion syndrome, particularly in patients on a low phosphate diet, eg malnutrition. - Maalox® Plus is not recommended for children and adolescents under the age of 18. - Maalox® is not recommended for children under the age of 15. - Maalox® and Maalox® Plus should only be used in pregnancy when absolutely necessary. Consult your doctor to make an evaluation of the expected benefit for the mother in relation to the risk for the fetus or baby. - Maalox® Plus is considered compatible with breastfeeding. - Do not use Maalox® after the expiry date.
