It is a very solid piece and will last for many generations. Taking up about the same room as the 6 drawer, it has more storage with the smaller drawers along the top. The whole dresser is solid lodge pole pine and is stained and varnished. (The solid wood timbers and accessory trim pieces on this piece are rough sawn, for a look uniquely reminiscent of the timber-framed homes once found on the American frontier..) Upkeep is simple on our furniture - if you do get nicks and dings, they can be sanded out and finish re-applied.We build these with lodgepole pine as it grows naturally in the forests of NW montana and is known for its superior strength to weight ratio. It is also straighter, thus making it easier to work the raw wood into the highest quality furniture possible. Our lodge pole pine is harvested in the Kootenai National Forest via a very selective process. Skilled woodsmen select each tree with an attentive eye toward the quality, straightness and size of each specimen. After felling, each piece is hand carried to the road to ensure both the tree and the environment remain unharmed.
