Description: This Lot of 9 Playboy magazines is special in that it includes ONLY those issues, in different years, that contain the coveted Playboy Playmate Review pictorials of ALL 12 playmates of a particular year. In essence, per each issue, get a FULL YEAR's worth of playmates of the month. So, in all, these 9 special issues contain photographic images of 108 centerfold playmates! Along with, of course, each issue's Playmate of the Month, other outstanding pictorial features, interviews, and articles. As all old Playboy magazine collectors have known for many years, as far as Playboy magazines go, "some issues are more equal than others". Put another way, some issue months are just better than others, as far as pictorial content that most collectors are looking for. By and large, I always thought the very best issue months were those in January, because, in almost every case, it was the big gala issue to begin the new year's offerings, and included the revered Playmate Review section, as mentioned. Those issues also tended to have lots of nice "new year" content (cars, style, etc). On occasion (as with the one December, 1988 issue included in this lot) you would have that Playmate Review elsewhere. But that was a rare occurrence. The "second best month" for collecting, in my opinion, would be the "Playmate of the Year" issues, which were found, about 95% of the time, in the June editions. Then, possibly as a 3rd "collectable group", one would probably go with the December Issues. Always jam-packed with lots of content. So, here I have opted to try to offer the "Best of the Best" - i.e., a nice little 9 issue collection of "all-Playmate-Review" issues. Best Bang for the Buck, you might say. Needless to say, having access to great photographs of all 12 playmates per year in each issue really cuts down on the number of issues you need to be able to check out playmates for entire years. And loads less storage space for all that excellent content. I feel these editions would be a great addition to any collection. Individual issues range from Good/Very Good to Excellent condition - and all have Centerfolds and all pages intact. Note that the centerfold for the January 1973 issue is detached, but complete, and in good condition otherwise.
