In 1935, the Acushnet Compay was born by three friends who wanted to create a perfectly centered golf ball In 1969, Acushnet came out with the AC-108 Irons. They were the Twin Tungsten Weighted Irons. My very first set of brand new Irons was this model Titleist, and I kinda wish I still had them. I'm one of those crazy old guys who don't like the "New and Improved" stuff the golf club industry comes out with every year, especially when part of the advertising is "The Last Iron You'll Ever Need." I suppose Golf Clubs are like cars in that respect. You have to have a new model every year just to keep up with competitors. I have collected and played golf with Vintage equipment since I started playing in 1975. Maybe you've heard about the Vintage Golf Tournaments that are popping up across the country. To play in the tournament, you have to use Wooden Headed Clubs, and no Cavity Back Irons allowed. I think putters are still "use whatcha got." I've heard the reasoning behind this kind of Golf Tournament is for the Golfers to make the ball go where they want it to go by the Golfers own skill, and for the Golfers to make the ball go where they want because of the design of the club. This Pitching Wedge is pretty good condition considering it might be in the neighborhood of 50 yers old! Of course it has nicks and dings from bag rattle, and some dents from playing the ball from spots that are not in Tee To Green zone. We've all be there haven't we? The shaft sticker is unreadable, but I'm guessing this club has a Stiff flex. The grip is an Acustnet made by Golf Pride, and is kind of slick. But, when this club sells, I will install a new grip of my choice at no charge, before shipping, and it won't be a crummy one! Club will be Protectively Packaged and shipped USPS Ground Advantage!
