Description: Sweet little schoolgirl sampler done by Anna L. Gannet in 1841. Excellent condition, no stains or holes. Inner dimensions of frame are 5 7/8"9 1/2", outer dimensions are 6 5/8"10 3/8". Professionally framed with low-glare glass. The lighter spots in the photos are just glare, the colors and tone of the stitching and background fabric are perfectly even throughout. This piece came from a Maine estate and I will be listing a few others from the same collection. I tried to do some digging on the name, and while I did not find Anna, I did find a prominent Gannet family whose history in this part of Maine goes back to the late 1700s.
