Wikipedia notes on the history of the Risdon Manufacturing Company, started in 1910 producing safety pins, and the very large ones were used by the military for laundry bags, or hotel laundries. #2, brass over steel, 4.25” long, no number stamp. #3, brass plated over steel, 4.25” long; stamped with #1712.
