Description: Pleased to offer a vintage Ruskin 1923 Ceramic Pottery Vase Purple Lavender Gray ~ Grapes & Leaves. This is a beautiful little vase has adorned my house for 45 years and I never noticed the crack. I guess I was just taken away by it's beauty. It's MUCH prettier than my photos. It measures 3.9" by almost 3" and is in great condition otherwise. Displays like a dream. I got in touch with a Ruskin expert, and he has never seen this combination before. He has a pair of candlesticks that he calls "crushed pink" glaze. Right now, it's a MYSTERY PIECE !! Shipping price includes insurance. Enjoy !!! EXPERT ALERT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IGNORE A LOT OF WHAT I'VE SAID. AN EXPERT SET ME STRAIGHT ON THE DETAILS AND I AM VERY GRATEFUL. Good morningThough I would try to help out with your details in the Ruskin Pot.The date is 1905 not 1923There are three identification marksWHT for William Howson Taylor used from 1901-1905Scissor mark used as a take on the name Taylor from 1901 to early 1920Over West Smethwick mark used from 1904/5-1909.Number 13 is the shape number as in the 1905/6 catalogue where it is catalogued as a tea bottle and has a small lid. It came in two sizes, four and seven inch.Colour is pinkDecorations are had painted with the vine pattern being used quite commonly by the factory to enhance rather than to be the main focus of the pit or glaze.I have attached a photograph of the one I have which is possibly a little earlier as it does not have the oval west Smethwick mark.
