Description: Antique Victorian Edwardian Silk and Lace 2 piece dress. Where to begin, this dress is gorgeous, with light as air tissue silk and amazing delicately detailed crochet lace. Pigeon breast top with Gigot/leg o’ mutton full balloon sleeves that taper to more lace at tight cuff. The cuff fits over my hands, but wouldn’t fit over the immovable hands of my mannequin so I had to take the mannequin’s arms off to present the dress. Also, I’m a woman’s size 4 and the top fits my neck and arms but I couldn’t make the back close at bottom on myself or the mannequin. The lace top of the skirt sits higher than the natural waist, kind of underneath the top around bottom of rib cage with the lace panel showing. I took a selfie with both pieces on to show how it fits on a human. Both pieces are in fair condition with some issues needing TLC: several small holes to both pieces scattered about (presumably caused by moths), a small vintage repair to skirt, a couple faint yellow spots to skirt, and faint underarm stains and a couple small spots to top. The top does have some shattering to INSIDE silk lining, but the silk body of both pieces, top and skirt, seem stable. Lace has some dark spots in places but I don’t see any obvious large breaks. Boning at top neck.
