Description: Bell Trading Post NM Solid Copper Beaded Cuff Bracelet Marked For consideration is this vintage solid copper bracelet with a raised bead design separated by small bead dots made at the Bell Trading Post in New Mexico, USA. It measures 2¼ inches across, 5/16 inches wide and the opening at the bottom measures 1¼ inches. The bracelet is slightly adjustable and the patina is natural and untouched. Patina is the green or brown film that forms naturally on the surface of copper due to a series of chemical reactions. It is signed on the underside with the Bell Trading Post logo and “Solid Copper”. The bracelet is in excellent vintage condition with no problems noted. Buyer will receive FREE shipping. Thank you for looking! NOTE: In 1932 during the worst of the Great Depression, Jack Michelson and his wife formed Bell Trading Post. They chose a location along the route of the newly established highway “Route 66”. Jack hoped to support his family selling Native American jewelry to travelers passing through Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1935, Bell Trading Post installed their own machinery which was used by his Native American workers. In addition, they began creating jewelry from Copper and Nickel Silver to cut costs as well. In the initial years, the post marked its jewelry with the image of a bell. Over the years there would be other trademarks, such as an arrow with a bell sign hanging from it. Most of these trademarks included a bell in some part of the design and these initial trademarks were used during the 1930s. During these early years Bell Trading Post marked their jewelry with an image of a bell and various labels such as “Bell Jewelry”, “Nickel Silver”, “Solid Copper”, and “Sterling”.
