He made his Art studies at the National School of Plastic Arts (Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas, ENAP, campus Academia de San Carlos), and History at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, both of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM). He pursued his Masters Courses on 1980, specializing in Stamp at the Research Division of the ENAP-UNAM. In 2000 he obtained the degree of Doctor of Fine Arts Cum Laude, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain (Facultad de Bellas Artes de San Carlos de la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, España).As a result of the production-research, he presented more than 26 individual exhibitions and participated in over 121 group exhibitions, He has also exhibited his work in Spain, USA, Canada, Germany, Japan, France, Italy, Hungary, India, Norway, Portugal, Poland, Malaysia, Egypt, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Peru, among other countries.It has been selected in several Biennials, Triennial , and Engraving International Competitions in both Mexico, and abroad. Among which: in 1993 the Biennials of Sapporo, Japan and Amsterdam, Holland. Got the Unique Award: «X International Stamp Award» Máximo Ramos «in El Ferrol, Spain. In 1994 at the VIII International Biennial of Mini-engraving of TAGA, Caracas, Venezuela. In 1995 he was selected again in the Taipei Biennial, China and won the first prize in the II Biennial of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving of the Autonomous National School of Fine Arts of Peru. He received Honorable Mention in 1995 at the VIII Biennial of Graphic Miniatures «Luisa Palacios» in Caracas, Venezuela. In 1996 and 1988 he won the silver medal «Goya» and second prize at the Biennial of Latin American Art, organized by the Cultural Foundation Pedro Domecq in Mexico. In 1993 he received the Selection Award at the Biennial Stamp and Drawing in Taipei, China. In 1997 his work was Chosen at the Biennials in Lima, Peru and Bhopal, India. In 1998 he was awarded a medal at the Biennial of Egypt and the 2000 once again he participated in the Biennale of Egypt. In 2001-2002 he participated in the Biennale of Amadora, Portugal. In 2005 he was again selected for a Graphic Biennial of Small Format. He was also selected in the 14th World Triennial of Small Format Stamps in Chamalier, France (1997).In 2001 his doctoral thesis was awarded unanimously as Cum Laude by the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain,. In 2001, the National Autonomous University of Mexico awarded him the recognition “Catedratico UNAM”. In 2002 and 2007 he was awarded the PRIDE «D», which retains to date (2014).
