Description: In 1954, Doepke released a 1/16 diecast aluminum replica of the MG TD, the actual car of which was in production at that time from 1950-1953. Today, those replicas are ranging between $300-500. A search on Ebay reveals that there is actually a cottage industry based around reproducing parts for the Doepke kit, in fact, there isn't a single piece you can't buy new/reproduced for this replica today ...... Except one. They don't reproduce the most important part of the kit: The Body If you find a bare body - which are rarely seen on Ebay - you can add every single missing piece that goes onto it, and have a complete kit. My research tells me that Doepke originally did these TD's in just a handful of colors, and this one appears to have had a partial repaint somewhere along the line; it has both orange and yellow on it.
