Description: For sale is 400 feet of the legendary Kodak 5247 motion picture film. The last of its kind. This film has not been used or exposed. It is still viable. It expired in the 80s, but I have taken awesome photos with this stock by compensating by several stops. Must develop in ECN-2 process utilizing remjet removal. They shot Star Wars, ET, Gremlins, etc with 5247. The fact that I own some still blows my mind, but it's time to send this unused reel on another journey. It has been spooled and re-canned, and stored at ideal temperature for long term preservation. There are 2 pics I took using Kodak 5247 from a previous 400' roll I had, so you can see what this stock is capable of today. You can use a dark bag to spool cartridges of roughly a meter at a time for still photos. I shot the 2 photographs you see with a Nikon FG & a Helios 81N lens. I removed remjet post development using a mix of warm water & baking soda. The last pic is from a snip test I did with another previous reel, showing the classic "5247" insignia on the film header. I hope this goes to a good home. It belongs in a museum. Or (call me crazy) it would be incredible for someone to shoot a scene with it. Or, at the very least, some still photography in some interesting locations with an eye for cinematography. This film no longer exists anywhere, so whoever buys it, hold on to it tight. Thanks for your time.
