Description: An uncommon first edition of Edward Knobel's 1899 "The Grasses, Sedges, and Rushes of the Northern United States: Illustrated: An Easy Method of Identification." Knobel wrote and illustrated a number of books on North American Flora and Fauna, mostly in the late 19th century. This book is profusely illustrated with full-page plates and line drawings. A revised (and slightly renamed) edition of this book was published in the 1970s and is still widely used today. Acceptable. Boards have a little wear on extremities. Front matter (endpapers, title, copyright page) detached. Binding pulling away from rest of textblock, but still attached. Book nonetheless feels sturdy in hand. Ex-library so it has a call number sticker on cover and check-out card inside rear cover. Interior otherwise unmarked, though there is some minor staining here and there. See photos.
