Description: This is a lovely little demitasse porcelain teacup and saucer set made by the excellent German porcelain manufacturer, Hutschenreuther for Danbury Mint. It is part of Danbury Mint’s Great Porcelain Houses of the World teacups collection of the 1980’s. This set is decorated with a blue design that looks like blue mermaid scales, perhaps, and sprigs of a pink rose, and red and blue flowers on the cup. The saucer has the same blue “scales” leaving an open white star shape in the middle trimmed in gold trim. The set is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing. The cup holds 1/3 cup stands 2 & 1/8 inches tall, with a diameter of about 2 & 1/2 inches. The saucer’s diameter is 4 & 3/8 inches. The porcelain is amazingly thin and light, and the whole set only weighs about 4 & 1/2 ounces. The last picture shows the cup and saucer next to a standard teacup so you can get a good idea of it’s size. Please zoom in on the pictures and see the 360 degree view for a closer look. I pack with lots of bubble wrap for safe shipping and ship out quickly, sometimes same day, always by next business day, and sometime on Saturday if I can get to the post office before it closes at noon.
