Description: INTERNAL DUST DEFLECTOR (BAFFLE) FOR INSIDE THE DRIVE DRUM GUARD ON A VINTAGE DELTA 6 X 48 BELT SANDER This is the hard-to-find deflector that mounts inside the lower guard to help prevent dust from following the sanding belt past the exhaust opening. Like many of the parts we need, if we can’t find it and buy it, then we make it. The photos show a stock die cast deflector (Delta part number BS-211) mounted in the guard housing as well as our new replacement deflector mounted in the same housing. The die cast deflector is much weaker than the welded steel deflector, thus the need for the gusset at each screw location This all new dust deflector is a two piece TIG welded assembly. It consists of a curved steel plate and a drilled and tapped steel flat bar mounting plate. Once the deflectors are fabricated and test fit, they are then sanded and prime painted gray….ready for finish painting to match the Owner’s machine. The deflector mounts to the lower pulley guard in the same manner as the OEM baffle. Three (3) 10-32 x 3/8 stainless steel screws are included with each deflector.
