Conlee was first exposed to live music as a child attending Sunday school and worship services at Versailles Baptist Church in Kentucky. He was nine years old when he accepted Christ and was baptized by the Reverend John Kruschwitz in June of 1956. Some of the songs in the collection are ones John was singing during his years in his home church. They continue to be an important part of worship experience just as they have been for generations.
