In fact, Nixon "duped" the entire country music and southern communities. When Johnny found out, he became THE MAN IN BLACK. The quotation Mr. Kittinger put on the photo was real, and Johnny said those words to a group of peaceniks and Hippies at a war protest rally in D.C. which brought their initial cheers into their jaws dropping when he said "I'll shoot you."
