Description: This is a wonderful original 19th century Karl Griesbaum singing bird box in need of some TLC. This very ornate filigree box is gilt over either brass or bronze. This box measures 4 1/4" long x 2 3/4" tall x 2 7/8" deep, and it weighs 1 pound, 14.1 ounces. This one drawer bird box is in all original condition including the original key- IT IS MISSING THE BIRD. There is a place for the bird to sit. The box certainly needs an oiling and general maintenance after all this time, but it certainly works pretty well at the moment! The mechanism winds up just fine, and it makes awesome and intriguing bird sounds, and the lid moves, the box just needs some love and restoration.
