Description: Here are two chests of drawers that have remained together for over two centuries. Both are period cherry Sheraton pieces from Lancaster County Pennsylvania ca. 1820. One is a cherry four drawer chest and the other is a 3 over 2 over 4 drawer cherry tall chest. Both are made in the same workshop and possibly by the same hand and both share construction features and designs, even original matching hardware and key escutcheons. Of course they are not a precise "match" like a mass-produced piece of furniture. The turned feet are slightly different as well as the bottom skirt so they are not an exact match but close enough in my opinion. These were purchased from a family who owned them "as far back as we can remember" through numerous generations. Both pieces are in original, as found and unrestored condition. Although there are no major structural issues or losses, some of the drawers will show more use wear than others. The tall chest is 64 inches high X 39.5 inches wide X 20 inches deep. The 4 drawer chest is 44 inches high X 40 inches wide X 20 inches deep. I am selling these as found in good original condition. I think it is extremely unlikely to find sibling chests of drawers at the same time these days.
