Here's a rare chance to get an Extra Long vintage Shell Cordovan early American watch band that is New Old Stock unused from the 1950s. Shell Cordovan is the term used for a very special leather made from a horse's rump. A horse provides two "shells," or circular sheets of leather. This rare material, also used for shoes and belts, is famous for its pliability and durability, as well as for the wonderful patina it develops over time. Although considerably more costly than other leathers, Shell Cordovan is an excellent investment. The smooth, high-grade finish and unique stitching of a Shell Cordovan band gives your vintage watch a special look. Extra Long Length strap measures 8 1/2 inches (21.9cm) placed end to end, not including the buckle. Metric measurements of the two pieces are 127/92mm. Flat unpadded strap that won't detract from a fine watch. Band is 4.0mm thick where it meets the watch and 2.0mm thick at the tail end. Comes with its original gold-tone buckle or you can request a silver-tone buckle that will be a different style.
