Description: Uncirculated Eisenhower Silver Dollars were minted at the San Francisco Mint and were marked “S.” When the series was introduced, the United States Mint announced that it planned to produce 150 million coins that were 40 percent silver. This estimate turned out to be too optimistic. Fewer than 7 million coins were sold in 1971, and total sales dropped to lower levels in 1972, 1973, and 1974. Each coin was individually wrapped in cellophane with a blue plastic tag. The package was placed in a blue outer envelope stamped with the Department of the Treasury Seal and white lettering indicating the contents inside.Condition: Packaging does show wear, tear, & aging. It has the year handwritten on the outside of envelope and on the inside of the envelope. Coins may show signs of aging, tarnishing, &/or oxidation. Please see photos for reference.
