We choose this formulation for a list of reasons, Silcone is a water proofing agent and does very well in the salt water environment where other greases shed off and dry our and cake up silicone will stay for a long time and help moisturize seals and protect them from UVs and dry rot. This grease can also be used in place of Dielectric grease as it is the same other than the Teflon which makes a very big difference for lubricity and sustainability in UVs. You should always keep Teflon Silicone Grease on your trim and tilt unit and steering rams as well as your power polls and or jack plate. This material is is hydro-phobic and will keep marine lift from calcifying and latching onto the substrate of the rams and seals.
