National Geographic Sep 1927 16 pg article Fauna Barro Colorado Is., Canal Zone

Description: This is an original 16 page article titled "Who Treads our Trails? A Camera Trapper Describes His Experiences on an Island in the Canal Zone, a Natural-History Laboratory in the American Tropics,: by Frank M. Chapman, American Museum of Natural History's Curator of Birds. He set up cameras on animal trails on Barro Calorado Island, the 6 square mile Smithsonian Institution enclave in the Panama Canal in the then-Canal Zone to see what animals would trigger the camera. The article shows many photos of pumas, tapirs, peccaries, coatis etc., various conditions analyzed to place the camera, baits used, whether the tripwire for the camera was tripped intentionally (the ocelot did so!) etc. Some edge tears but in very good condition. Mailed unfolded. High bidder pays $1.87 shipping within the US; international not shipped due to cost (like $6). We combine shipping!
