SAXON, a leading NWOBHM band with 45 years of history since their debut in 1978, have just released their 24th album, their first in two years since their much talked about previous album, Carpe Diem! This album is a condensed version of the ultimate SAXON sound, further developing the aggressive and dramatic sound of their previous album, with Biff Byford (vocals) at the center of the band! As with the previous album, Andy Sneap (JUDAS PRIEST, etc.) is in charge of producing with Biff. The big difference with this album is that Paul Quinn (g), who has been an original member of SAXON with Biff for many years, announced his retirement from touring after the previous album, and has been replaced by fellow countryman Brian Tatler (g) of DIAMOND HEAD, who lived in the same era. Brian also participated in composing the album, bringing aggressive blood to the band! The other members are the immovable Nigel Glockler (dr), Nibs Carter (b), and Doug Scarratt (g). The album title song, which Brian participated in and has a music video, is a dramatic metal number filled with Biff's passionate thoughts about the battle between good and evil, but the title "Hell, Fire and Damnation" actually comes from Biff's father's old catchphrase, and when Biff was a child and mischievous, his father would say, "What are you doing!? Go to hell, burn at the stake, and perdition!" ] was the usual reaction of the customer. SAXON has already started a large-scale world tour, and in March 2024, they will finally start a three-way tour with JUDAS PRIEST and URIAH HEEP, which is scheduled to run until June!
