Description: “New Orleans” (1941) 8mm Film Home Movie, Cemetery, French Quarter, Lake, VS1 Such a great film. The cameraman clearly had experience with the camera and took great documentary footage of New Orleans in 1941. The film opens with a 1 minute scrolling info bit that appears to be a tourist stock lead. Film then moves into great home movie footage of the cemeteries and the French Quarter. So amazing. FILM CONDITION: Film is in good condition and ran smoothly on an autoload projector. Film has slight curl. VINEGAR SYNDROME: A-D test strip indicates that the film has level 1 vinegar syndrome, fair to good condition. Film has slight curling, but ran through projector without issue.Film currently in cold storage to prevent further degradation. 5” reel (approximate 13.5 min) Rough timeline: 1 min - scrolling history text about New Orleans, I think this was short film stock that was available for tourists to add to their home movies.
