Description: Here we have a quite scarce authentic original antique private mailing card made in Germany between 1898 and 1901. This Hold-Against-the Light card features the SS Deutschland passing the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor. Vibrantly colorized, including with text in red on the front. Produced by Edw. Lowey & Co Publishers, and issued German patent #88690. Condition: Our photographs reveal the condition best and are the most important part of the description--please zoom in on them and examine them carefully. Very clean and fresh piece in excellent condition for its age. Unposted, unused, with no writing (other than a collector's penciled-in historical price note on the back) and no other signs of use other than the indent from album use on the lower right corner, and a tiny crease to the corner on the bottom left. Absolutely nothing sticky or otherwise gross, and no funky odors. Overall better than typical and expected aging of materials.
