One Antique Arts Crafts Wool Linen Fabric Lg Curtain Drape ~ Red Persimmon Gold

Description: I had a wonderful opportunity to acquire an outstanding collection of textiles from the Art Nouvea/Art Deco & Arts & Crafts period. Some beautiful unique period textiles that I’ll be listing here. ~ This is a gorgeous & very unique large curtain panel from the Arts & Crafts period. Latter 1800’s to 1900 time frame. An outstanding design in a wool jacquard with possibly some linen in the fiber. Heavy robust curtain. ***The color did not photo well. It’s an old red (not pink) with a persimmon type orange, green & metallic gold. It has a raised embroidered look in the motifs. Stunning textile. The lining is a fine polished cotton. There is a rod pocket on top. Stunning period trim. ***I’ll be listing 2 of these separately*** This is for the “left” panel, the trim is at the right side & bottom. Condition ~ Is overall good with some signs of age. A few small areas with wool loss, inherent of earlier woolens. Subtle as the busyness of the design & colors seem to offset this well. Some oxidation/variance to the old dyes. The outer edge has some softening to the color. A portion of the trim will need restitching though it still displays well. Some patina at the rod pocket area. The lining is in good shape. My understanding is that it was professionally cleaned. Overall I consider it very good & certainly a superb textile from this time period. Styles beautifully & offers a lot of very unique period fabric & trim. ***Measures~ 53” wide by 123” long. So almost 3 1/2 yds worth of wonderful period fabric.
