Description: Pair of Retro 1940’s 14K Gold,Platinum,Diamond,Pearl+Ruby Butterfly Brooches 10g. These beautiful retro hand crafted butterfly brooches are not an identical pair, but they were sold together to my mother and I would like to sell them together as well. There are no markings on either brooch, but they were evaluated by an estate jeweler. The gold is 14K rose gold. There is a layer of platinum on top of the wings were the diamonds are set. The pearls are cultured, eyes are bezel set rubies, and the diamonds are small single cuts. The larger brooch measures 1.25” across the wingspan and .75” from top of antennae to bottom of pearl. It weighs 5.22 grams. The smaller brooch measures 1” across the wingspan and 7/8” from the top of the antennae to bottom of pearl. It weighs 5.49 g. The pair weigh 10.70 g The price is for BOTH brooches.
