I’ve been using Petzl for a lot of years now and this is the best I think they’ve ever done. The red light is bright and focused and the other lights are wide and very bright. They also added a much needed lock so it doesn’t turn on when stowed in your pack. All in all I couldn’t be happier with this light. Im going to get one or two more to keep around. Excellent flexibility and water resistancea month agoI just shared this feedback in a group where someone was asking about headlamps and when I came to find the link to share with them, thought I should put this feedback here too. I love the petzl tikka headlamp. It uses a rechargeable battery but can also use three AAA batteries... So you could recharge the rechargeable battery while using AAA batteries. The rechargeable battery is sold separately. It has a long life on the lowest and medium brightness, which for me are bright enough for trail running. I have used this in heavy rain and it seems to have a solid seal for water resistance - no issues. It can be difficult to open the battery pack, and sometimes challenging to get the swivelly light part seated properly after opening the battery covering to recharge it. My husband prefers the brightest setting and did have it almost die on a long winter traverse where he probably spent a combined 6-8 hours using it in the dark, without recharging.Age 35–44Yes, I recommend this product.
