He stressed bodybuilding, and this issue has many pin-up photos of people who'd followed his advice - some are young and beautiful, others just healthy looking people of various ages. Like so many nutritionists today, he thought that most of what people typically ate was bad for them - he was one of the first to complain about white bread. He was suspicious of the medicine of the time and thought most physical problems could be cured by diet and exercise.
