The crank shaft opening in the handle is the same size as an Ambassadeur type reel, and perfectly fits an early 5000 that I own. I do not know what reel it was original to, what brand, or if it was an aftermarket product. Either way it would be beautiful on an older Abu Garcia / Ambassadeur Reel.
