Description: Sterling Silver - Mark Scearce - Mint Julep Cup - weighs 4.10 troy ozs. Offered is a Rare and early example of the Scearce Mint Julep Cups. This one is without the presidential initials and eagle mark and is generally accepted as the earliest of the Scearce presidential mint julep cups. This is the first time we have ever seen one of these in person. If you notice the banding on the top and bottom, it is wider than the regular ones. Upon some research, we found one that sold at auction in June 2021 and was accompanied by a Harry Truman one. The lot was sold for $4700 plus the premium. We acquired a collection and there were 4 of these! We decided to list them separately rather than a set. Marked: Mark J. Scearce, Shelbyville, Kentucky, STERLING Measurements: 3 3/16" in width/diameter at top rim and measures 3 11/16" in height. Monograms: none. Condition: Great Condition. This has been professionally restored by a silversmith, including polishing. Most tiny dings/dents, scratches were removed.
