Description: A finely modelled and very charming Meissen figurine of ''Cupid the Postman'', designed by August Ringer in 1889 as part of ''Love'' series. The Cupid is shown standing against a tree trunk, partially draped with a soft blue cloth for modesty, carrying a brown mail satchel slung over one shoulder overflowing with love letters and holding a single love letter in his outstretched hand, another envelope has been dropped on the ground, his facial features and hair meticulously detailed and finely painted. The Cupid presents wonderfully and appears complete. Upon closer inspection, however , it is revealed that both of his wings have been professionally restored. In every other respect, the figurine is very good condition with no chips, cracks or further repairs. Marked on the base with the 1st quality Meissen crossed swords, incised model number O. 175 , painted number 49. It stands approximately 15.2 / 6 inches cm high .We ship internationally.
