Description: In 1986, Relix Records released a live compilation of the New Riders of the Purple Sage performances from the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York from February 21 and 23, 1971. The N.R.P.S. frequently toured with, and opened for, the Grateful Dead during this period. Jerry Garcia played pedal steel guitar with the New Riders in addition to his role with the Grateful Dead, sometimes performing 6 or more hours in a single night – early and late shows with both the New Riders and the Grateful Dead. Relix Records limited their 1986 release to 1,000 copies. The album was made of a clear vinyl with a two-sided picture insert. This item you are viewing on eBay came from the printer’s overrun of the two-sided picture disc insert. This is not the LP itself. The insert features the classic N.R.P.S. logo on the A side, which was designed by David Nelson. The insert’s B side includes a description of the release, along with a list of the band members, songs, and a classic photo of the band, including Jerry Garcia. The Picture Disc Insert is in New, Near Mint condition and measures 11” across with a hole in the middle for the record player spindle. This is a nice addition to any collector of Grateful Dead / Jerry Garcia / N.R.P.S. memorabilia. Item will ship in a sturdy poster tube.
