Description: This is a very good fix for a common problem with oil leaks from the gear shift on RD's The steel gear shaft in time wears the aluminium crank cases and results in a constant oil leak. This modification removes the play making the gear shift more positive and less sloppy as well as providing a new seal interface. Very clever idea. Simply remove the oil seal and insert the modification and new oil seal. Problem solved. No machining required. The kit includes one 6082 aluminium housing with PB1 bronze bush and nitrile oil resistant O-ring, new oil seal & acetal plastic sleeve. The O-ring provides an additional seal. Note that the new bush means the existing circlip is redundant so we have introduced a 4mm grub screw within the sleeve which holds to gear shaft in place when refitting the gear shift pedal. Although the bush is an interference fit I would recommend using a smear of silicon sealant over the O-ring. Do not use thread lock. These are CNC precision made so tolerances are exacting.
