Description: This is a handmade Redwood Burl Coffee Table with an oval shape and a glossy finish. The tabletop is made of resin and the handle material is wood. The dimensions are 38 inches in length, 26 inches in width, and 20 inches in height. The unique pattern of lace adds to the table's aesthetic appeal.PLEASE READ BELOW FOR BASE COLOR OPTIONS Top:A Hand Picked Slab of Northern California Old Growth Redwood Burl. Its 24" W 36" L and just under 3" Thick. Over the base it stands 18" Tall.First the slab is "Debarked" talking a chisel you carefully remove all the bark and and old loose wood that might become dislodged or rot.Then using a router sled or CNC router the slab is "flattened" or "planed"Now the slab is sealed with Epoxy resin and then the start of a sanding marathon begins.First it is sanded to even out the slab and to remove any imperfections. (60 grit-320 Grit)Next the grain is raised and sanded again.Then it is topped with a epoxy resin pour.The epoxy is sanded down to make sure it is perfectly flat and has no imperfections.And the final coat of epoxy resin will be poured.Followed by Wet sanding all the way through 4000 grit.Finished with a Automotive clear coat Cut and Buff.A cutting compound is applied manually using a polishing machine equipped with a wool pad. Removing the top layer of the epoxy resin clear coat prepares the surface for polishing.The surface is then polished until desired finished is reached.A finishing compound is then applied to protect the epoxy resin finish and give it that glass like shine. Then a oil based finished is applied for the finally to further protect the wood underneath.Base:A custom made heavy duty base designed fabricated and welded by yours truly. This isn't a amazon table base, it weighs close to 20lbs. You can stand, jump on it. Forget your jack stands? You could use this table base. The base is secured using a 1'x2' steel plate that is inlayed into the top, secured with epoxy and common furniture hardware.Materials; 1" x 2" x 1/8th thick 304 Stainless Steel Rectangle Tube**Powder Coat Options**When it comes to painting metal powder coating is your go to best bet. It provides a more durable finish than liquid paints can offer, while still providing an attractive finish. Powder coated products are more resistant to diminished coating quality as a result of impact, moisture, chemicals, ultraviolet light, and other extreme weather conditions.I can powder coat any color that is available.
