Comes in the original portfolio along with the certificate of authenticity. The painted area is approximately 25 inches x 19 inches. The actual paper size is approximately 30-1/2 inches by 24-1/2 inches. ONLY 500 were made. This is 196/500. The print is in very nice condition. The portfolio is not perfect as the last two pictures indicate.The top left of the portfolio is torn and the bottom right of the portfolio is torn and turned up. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. In his "Marathon" Serigraph, America’s Sports Artist, Rick Rush, captures the scene which takes place at the beginning of a marathon where the runners start breaking for their positions and begin establishing their strides. The names of several major marathons can be seen on the shirts of the runners. Included are: the Boston Marathon, The Peachtree Road Race, the New York Marathon, and the Chicago Road Race. The likeness of many well-known runners can also be picked out of the crowd. "Limited Edition" refers to the fact that there is only a certain amount, or "limited" number of serigraphs printed of a specific piece of artwork. After the edition is printed, all of the original artwork and screens used to make the print are destroyed or effaced. This ensures that no additional prints of this image will be made in the future. This is the opposite of an "Open Edition", where public demand determines the number of pieces included in an edition. The limited life of the stencil prevents unlimited editions. Additionally, variables in the process of hand-pulling serigraphs mean that each individual serigraph is slightly different from each other serigraph in the edition. Minor deviations in color registration, paint distribution, and variations yield individual pieces that are truly "one-of-a-kind" or "original."
