Description: The name of this Sailor Valentine is “Petite Heart”. Handcrafted in a e inch by 4 inch Mahogany box. The depth is 1 1/4 inches. The center features a beautiful pink and white heart cockle decorated with a greasy water pearl. The cockle sits on a round of abalone edged with golden cording. A wreath of flowers surrounds the center. The shells used for the flowers include blue abalone, apple blossom shells, lilac shells and white operculum. Bits of coral are placed between the flowers for accent. Rice shells outline the outer edged of the box. Petite Heart can be displayed on an easel or it can stand by itself. I use shells from all over the world and the finest boxes made with the best hardwoods. I am a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. My Sailor Valentines have won several awards at the Sanibel Shell Show, Sanibel Island Florida.
