Description: The Sandman : Preludes and Nocturnes. First printing. Published by DC Comics in 1991. Trade paperback. Softcover, graphic novel. The book is SIGNED on the 1st page by the illustrator Sam Kieth, with an original SKETCH of Dream. Hand drawn original art! An incredibly detailed head sketch, and one of the coolest Sam Kieth sketches I've seen anywhere. Here's the full story of how I acquired it. Many years ago, I was searching ebay for all the original Sandman 1st print TPB's to complete my own collection. I found this damaged copy for sale. I asked the seller for some pictures of the book, and unfortunately it had some water damage throughout the whole book in the lower left corner. I wasn't going to buy it. However, one picture showed this unbelievable drawing and inscription by Sam Kieth!!! I had to have it now. The seller told me the book kinda smells, and he was just going to throw it in the garbage. I told him I would buy it anyway, so I rescued this masterpiece from oblivion. Long story short, poor condition on the book, but excellent treasure on the art. The drawing itself is in no way damaged, and could be cut out and framed separately if desired. The book is still readable and the pages are not stuck together. I am not terribly motivated to sell this piece, but will consider serious offers. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Please see my page for more comics, sketches, signatures and original art.
