Long before the start of the 20th century, the night watchman patrolled the streets inside the high stone walls of the city. His horn or bell warned citizens of fire. He was in charge of lighting the lanterns and announcing the hours in the still of the night. HEINZ-GÜNTHER, THE NIGHT WATCHMAN, Nr 1832, has not been displayed. The nutcracker is in mint condition, essentially new-in-the-box, and complete with the limited edition notation, Steinbach logo, hang tag, and SIGNED BY CHRISTIAN STEINBACH. The original box shows wear from storage, but the nutcracker and its accessories have only been out of the box for inspection, photos and signing.
