Description: Signed Yuasa? Japanese Bronze Mixed Metal Box & Lid Carp Koi with Artist Marks. A kind fellow e-Bayer tells us that the circular inscription on the base reads "Made by Yuasa" (see Frames #5 and #6). A fine example of bronze work with a masterful sculpture using the motif of the koi fish. We note a small label affixed to the underside of the lid, likely a control number for inventory. Condition:Excellent antique condition. No dents or dings. Wear from honest use, isolated instances of green patina. We took photos in natural light, in both shade and sun.
