Not sure if it requires power because of the Sonance Laminated Core Transformer inside. Connected it direct to receiver speaker outlet and received very low volume. Probably a defective driver. It has a 12” driver. Too heavy to ship. Local pick up highly recommended. It has a hard body rubberized body perfect for outdoors as it is meant for. It has scratches on body.
