The sides wrap down under the gunwale for total protection. If you purchase a different cover that only wraps over the gunwale and doesn't cover the sides and transom, you can end up with faded gelcoat from ultraviolet rays from the sun. We leave the bungee loose so you can tighten it to your preference. 3 tie down straps on each side. Just run a bungee cord under the boat from one strap to the other and the cover will not move.
