Description: This is one of a series of commemorative panels honoring important events in american history. They were issued starting in the late 1980s, and featured 1 MNH Stamp for the event, and a cancelled current stamp on the anniversary of the event. They were mounted in a heavy stock card 10”x 9”, with text relevant to the event, with a multicolor cache. They also provided a leather hardcover collector’s binder holding up to 200 panels. It was a subscription program titled “The History of America in Stamps. I have the Iwo Jima flag raising panel. They were issued on by approval, at a rate of 1 per month @ $5.75 .
